Sakura Maku
Many tall tales are told of Sakura Maku, an artist shrouded in mystery. One such tale recounts her fearless heriosm in rescuing her entire Cypress Creek Senior High School football team from an overturned, burning school bus in Orlando, Florida. Additionally, Sakura is believed to possess uncanny breakdancing skills, near-telepathic affinity with housepets and a keen MENSA level intellect. Unsubstantiated rumors aside, one truth about Sakura Maku remains crystal clear: her art is truly magical. Working in a variety of media (i.e silkscreen, stone lithograph, mixed media drawings, comics, etc.), she works towards creating a familiar, yet out-of-this-world experience that transcends the commonplace and mystifies. In the last year, Sakura completed her BFA at School of Visual Arts and has gone on to further develop her considerable talents at Yale University's MFA program. |
